Made possible through a grant from the Cameron and Jane Baird Foundation.
Now in its 25th season our Gift to the Community series continues to feature some of the world's most exciting
young artists. Four performers from previous seasons won 1st prize at the coveted Tchaikovsky Competition in
Moscow and 10 series performers have been awarded highly competitive Avery Fisher Career Grants. This season the
three artists will astound you with their unique creativity and incomparable technique.

Bio
Risa Hokamura began studying the violin at the age of three, and by the age of ten captured top
prizes in competitions in Japan. She first came to international attention upon winning First Prize
in the 2018 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions at the age of
seventeen, as well as the Tannery Pond Concerts Prize, The Ruth Laredo Memorial Prize, and The
Ronald A. Asherson Prize, and the Silver Medal at the 2018 International Violin Competition of
Indianapolis, where she performed the Tchaikovsky Concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony
conducted by Leonard Slatkin.

Known for his “soaring flute… where dance and song become possible again” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer),
and praised for his “breezily virtuosic” (The New York Times) performances, Anthony “Toney” Trionfo enjoys
actively building one of today’s most exciting musical careers.
At home in front of an orchestra, Anthony performs frequently as a concerto soloist and has worked with the
Grant Park Festival Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Edmonton Symphony, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra,
McCall Festival Orchestra, Stockton Symphony, Riverside Symphony, and Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra,
among others.
